Naming, Renaming and Welcoming Ceremonies
A naming or welcoming ceremony is an opportunity to welcome your new arrival into your family and the wider community. This can be a poignant ceremony for adopted children or for step children. This may help to create a much-needed sense of identity and belonging for children as they start a new chapter in their lives. As part of your ceremony we can include a symbolic action such as a family candle, tree planting or sand ceremony.
Renaming ceremonies can be a meaningful way to celebrate your journey and affirm your identity after affirmation surgery. Whether you want a simple ceremony or something fabulous and flamboyant, I'll help you to celebrate your authentic self.
Civil Partnerships, Commitment Ceremonies & Vow Renewals
I offer ceremonies to celebrate weddings, civil partnerships and vow renewals. If you're celebrating a special anniversary or birthday, or simply want to do it all again, a vow renewal ceremony is a perfect way to reaffirm your love and commitment.
I offer the option of a commitment ceremony for couples who don't want to, or aren't able to, enter into a legal marriage or civil partnership. Your family and friends can play an active part, for example in reading poems or performing music. You can even include your four-legged friends.
Whatever your passions are, we can include them in your ceremony to create an unforgettable experience.
The legal bit
Please note that, under current legislation, ceremonies conducted by independent celebrants are not legally binding. To be legally married in England or Wales, you need to be married by a registrar, minister or other faith leader. The easiest way to do this is a statutory ceremony at a register office. It involves the couple and 2 witnesses. Once you've got the legal stuff out of the way, we can focus on the fun part!
